DrYanmin Li Joined the Chinese Delegation Conducteda Mission in Columbia，the South America

On invitation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Columbia, DrYanmin Li from the OIE/National Reference Laboratory for FMD, along with other 4 delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA),went to Colombia for a mission during 25th March–3rd April June, 2017. The Chinese delegates visited pig, sheep and cattle farms,a slaughter house,the provincial and national veterinary laboratories, the animal vaccinemanufacturer VECOLand the custom control in the port of Cartagenalocated in Bogotá and Cordoba regions.  An on-the-spot inspection and investigation were carried out during each visit to evaluate the national prevention and control scheme and policy for the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Colombia. The validation and the risk analysis have been done from various aspects including regulations and policy, management, surveillance programme and the diagnostic technology/strategy and the capacity.

At the open meeting on 27thMarch, The minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Columbia, MrAurelio Iragorri Valenciawelcomed the delegates and wished the success of this visit. The head of Chinese delegation, Mr Wang Gongmin, the deputy director of the Veterinary Bureau introduced the delegates and the objectives of this visit. At the close meeting on 3rd April, the director of the Institute of Colombia Agriculture (ICA), Mr. Luis HumbertoMartínezLacoture,on behalf ofthe Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Columbiathankedthe delegates for this mission and appreciated very much for the feedback from the delegates. The delegates expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and ICA for all cooperation and help they have received during theinvestigation and inspection. It is believed that this visit will benefit the improvement of the exportation of the livestock and the meat products from Colombia.
