Prof. Dariusz Bednarek and Dr. Katarzyna Dudek from National Veterinary Research Institute, Poland (NVRI or PIWet-PIB, Poland) visited LVRI for academic exchange

  On the invitation of Prof. Jie Zhang, Prof. Yongsheng Liu and Prof. Yuefeng Chu, Prof. Dariusz Bednarek and Dr. Katarzyna Dudek from the National Veterinary Research Institute, Poland (NVRI or PIWet-PIB, Poland), visited Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI) for academic exchange in the period of 18-23, November, 2018. Under the host of Prof.  Zhang, Principle Investigator of Viral Disease in Grazing Animal Team and Prof. Yuefeng Chu, leader of Mycoplasma Research Group, Bacterial Disease in Grazing Animal Team, Dr. Katarzyna Dudek delivered a lecture entitled "Epizootic situation of mycoplasma bovis diseases and their control in Poland". Dr. Katarzyna Dudek introduced in detail the epidemiological situation of M. bovis infection in Poland, the development of inactivated vaccine as well as the prevention and control progress of this disease. The academic lecture arose extensive interest of researchers in LVRI and international scientists participating in the International Training Workshop on Major Transboundary Animal Diseases (TAD) Diagnosis Technology. An extensive discussion on mycoplasma infection in animals was then proceeded.

  During the visit, the researchers from the Bacterial Disease in Grazing Animal Team, LVRI, held a deep and face-to-face discussion with prof. Dariusz Bednarek and Dr. Katarzyna Dudek. The two sides had extensive discussion on the diagnostic and vaccine development in M. bovis and other mycoplasmosis in ruminants. Through this academic exchange, scientists on both sides exchange the research progress on bovine, sheep and goat mycoplasmosis, which lays a foundation for facilitating the on-going cooperation projects and future scientific collaboration.

  On Nov. 21, General Director prof. Hong Yin and Vice Director prof. Jianxun Luo met prof. Dariusz Bednarek and Dr. Katarzyna Dudek.They all agreed that their visit strengthens and enhances the development of LVRI-PIWet-PIB JOINT LAB FOR ANIMAL DISEASE CONTROL which was established in June, 2016. Last August, in Warsaw, LVRI director Mr. Hong Yin and PIWet-PIB director Mr. Krzysztof Niemczuk signed THE AGREEMENT ON ESTABLISHMENT OF LVRI-PIWet-PIB JOINT LAB FOR ANIMAL DISEASE CONTROL in the presence of Mr. Han Changfu, Minister of Ministry of Agriculture, P. R. China and Mr. Krzysztof Jurgiel, Polish Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

  The polish experts’ visit was funded by Project entitled”Development of the Platform for Diagnosis of the main animal diseases based on Chinese-Polish (LVRI-PIWet-PIB)Joint Lab for Animal Disease Control in the framework of Sino-Polish Agricultural Science and Technology Center”supported by Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), P.R.C.
