Dr. Katarzyna Podgorska, an expert of OIE Reference Labs for classical swine fever (CSF) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), from National Veterinary Research Institute, Poland, visited our institute during July 28th to 29th at the invitation of Prof. Jie Zhang, coordinator of  LVRI (Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI))-PIWet-PIB (National Veterinary Research Institute (PIWet-PIB), Poland) Joint Lab for Animal Disease Control and FMD Prevention and Control Research Innovation Team. On the morning of 29th, Dr. Katarzyna Podgorska delivered a lecture entitled “Epidemiology of Classical and African Swine Fever and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in Poland” and later discussed with our scientists about the prevention and control strategies of most severe swine disease, such as CSF, PRRSV, ASF and PCVs. She carefully introduced how Poland finally eradicated CSF and gave us some useful suggestions.

　　Dr. Katarzyna Podgorska’s visit strengthened and enhanced the development of  LVRI-PIWet-PIB Joint Lab and improved the academic exchange between the two institutes and laid foundation for further all-round cooperation, especially for project application.
