On 28-29, November, 2023, the 6th European Meeting of Animal Chlamydioses and Zoonses, which is held for every two years, was held at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, UK. The participants from EU member States, China, the United States, Australia, Mexico and other countries engaged in animal chlamydiosis, toxoplasmosis, rickettsiosis, campylobacteriosis participated in the academic conference. Dr. Jizhang Zhou was invited to attend. About 200 researchers participated in the conference, mainly from animal chlamydiosis, toxoplasmosis, rickettsiosis, campylobacteriosis and other epidemiology, genomics, diagnosis, treatment, vaccine research and other pathogen co-infection and other academic exchanges. At this meeting, Dr. Jizhang Zhou of our research institute gave a report entitled "Evaluation of multi-proteins of Chlamydia abortus as a potential subunit vaccine for OEA". The highlight of the report is the design of Chlamydia abortussubunit vaccine from different levels, so as to effectively prevent the invasion and replication of chlamydia, which has aroused the interest of some people engaged in chlamydia vaccine research. At the same time, Dr. Jizhang Zhou also conducted a poster entitled "Molecular survey of Chlamydia species in Yak(Bos grunnlens) from Tibetan plateau of China". During the conference, Dr. Jizhang Zhou actively participated in questions and discussions, and fully communicated with scholars from different countries on the prevention and control of chlamydiosis. In addition, Dr. Jizhang Zhou and Researcher K. Laroucau of the French National Food, Environment and Labor Health Agency (ANSES) had a preliminary exchange and discussion on the establishment of a zoonosis laboratory between the two sides, which laid a foundation for further promoting the level of zoonosis research and international cooperation in our research institute in the future.
