Livestock and Poultry Zoonotic Diseases Team study animal origin zoonosis including viral infection such as poxvirus, bacterial zoonosis such as chlamydiosis, brucellosis, tuberculosis and parasitic zoonosis such as hydatid disease and trichinellosis. The research field consists of pathogen biology, pathogen-host-environment interaction ecology, host tropism and interspecies spread of infection, pathogen genetic evolution and early warning, prevention and control technology. These will lay the foundation for the effective prevention and control of animal origin zoonoses outbreaks and epidemics and protect safety of public health, animal and national security.
